Firefighters in Colorado Springs battle smokey storage unit blaze

Firefighters in Colorado Springs battled a blaze in a storage unit Thursday night.

The fire broke out about 7:30 p.m. at American Storage, 6740 Vincent Drive, according to the fire department.

Firefighters wielding axes broke down storage-unit doors, forcing entry into storage units to battle flames.

Crews working on suppressing the fire

The cause of the fire is under investigation. There was no initial report of injuries.
